Well, hasn’t it been a momentous day? Not only does Britain have a new Prime Minister but Michael Walmsley is blogging again. I think I know which of these two events is likely to garner the most attention, but for those of you reading this I can promise you that the coming weeks and months are going to be very interesting indeed.
We are living in “interesting times” in so many ways. I will be concentrating on technology, The Web and social media but you will no doubt get a few golden nuggets of wisdom from me.
You may have noticed that the domain that I am blogging on is slightly different. I originally had my blog on my .co.uk domain but now I have integrated it into my main .com domain. The reason? Simple, my blog was ranking higher on all of my chosen keyword terms than my main site was so I reasoned that it made more sense to have the blog as part of my main site to help increase my search engine visibility. In the coming weeks and months my search engine rankings should soar to previously unseen heights.
So if you are looking at ways to increase your own search engine rankings learn two valuable lessons:
- Make sure that the content of your site changes regularly
- Make sure that the content of your site is relevant to the keywords that you wish to rank highly for
